The place to go for the best wings, great fries and overpriced beer. Its what most tourist know of the local cuisine, and should probably be tried. As seen on many travel/food shows, its the home of the Pittsburgh style sandwich. Other than standard American suburbia, there is not much to see other than Robert Morris University.īesides the fine selection of food, there is little to keep you in Moon. There is heavy traffic and not many sidewalks so walking isn't encouraged. There is very limited bus service on University Boulevard. The G3 Moon Flyer bus runs between downtown Pittsburgh and the Park and Ride, located on the top of University Boulevard in Moon Township. If arriving at the airport and an airport shuttle is not available, the best options would be a taxi or ride service. Though extremely close to the Pittsburgh Airport, there are no direct buses. The township is most often simply referred to as Moon. It is an upper-middle class town whose original growth was based on the US Airways hub at PIT. ![]() Though often associated with Coraopolis because of the shared zip code, they are distinct towns bordering each other. Moon Township, along with Robinson Township is one of the two suburbs a traveler might find themselves if staying at an airport hotel around Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). ![]()
